The problem
There’s no easy way to share how a song makes you feel — to put it out into the world. Spotify, Apple Music, and other services fill the most important gap of listening to the actual music; Wavform extends that and makes it far more social, all while keeping it smooth and seamless.
My role
As the lead and only developer, my job was to bring my client’s vision to life — he was also the designer. That meant pixel-perfect UI with clean, hand-crafted UX and animations that feel smooth and in place. Working with the Spotify API, building an efficient backend to handle all the reads, and delivering a real-time activity feed for every user were the challenges I’m proudest of.
What I built
A full-fledged social system: profiles where users showcase their favorite music and reviews, a like-and-comment system to interact and share the joy of music, and a notification system that keeps everyone on top of updates so they never miss an interaction. On top of all the inner workings sits a presentation layer that lets users do all of this without friction or effort.
The outcome
A polished app that, within six months of launch, has already logged over 80,000 in-app ratings and reached 5,000 monthly active users.
